GUS has recently worked in collaboration with Surf Life Saving Western Australia to implement a drone monitoring program aiming to boost the lifesaver patrol's ability to spot a range of hazards including rips, swimmers in distress and marine life as part of the as part of the State Government's Shark Mitigation Strategy.
GUS in Timor Leste - establishing topographic baselines
GUS worked with the Timor Leste government to establish a topographic baseline along the Comoro River which runs through the nation's capital in Dili. Driven by a construction boom, the river is the focus of much sand and alluvial mining, the magnitude of which the government wishes to understand and reconcile in the future.
